Aston U’s Christopher Hewitt will present AUTOSTEM findings at Scale-up and Manufacturing conference, U.S.

The AUTOSTEM team at Aston University, Birmingham, U.K.  have had an abstract accepted and been selected for a poster presentation at the ECI Scale-up and Manufacturing of Cell-based Therapies VI in San Diego, California, the U.S. The conference will take place the 15-19 January 2019. The title of the accepted abstract is “Isolation and expansion of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells directly on microcarriers in a stirred tank bioreactor“. The paper will be presented by Prof Christopher J Hewitt of Aston University. In addition to Prof Hewitt, the following researchers contributed to this body of work: the Aston University team of Mariana Petronela Hanga, Panagiota Moutsatsou, and Shibani Ratnayake, Alvin W Nienow of the University of Birmingham, U.K. and Qasim A. Rafiq of University College London, United Kingdom.

This ECI conference will provide opportunities for the exploration of problems and issues of concern to engineers and scientists from many disciplines with a focus on cell manufacturing and scaling-up the processes.
