Several members of the Autostem team attended at, and contributed to, the European Chapter Meeting of TERMIS (the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society) held in Davos, Switzerland on 26-30 June 2017. Autostem Coordinator Dr Mary Murphy (NUIG) presented at the Symposium on Stem Cells for Bone Regeneration. Dr Murphy’s paper was entitled “Assessment of a Scalable 3D Bioreactor System for the Expansion of bone-marrow derived MSCs in a novel xeno-free medium” (Sean Gaynard, Georgina Shaw, Mark Briggs, Frank Barry, Mary Murphy).
There were also several Autostem posters presented at the Conference, including:
- “AUTOSTEM: a closed robotic platform for the automated expansion of mesenchymal stem cells” – Jelena Ochs, Michael Kulik, Robert Schmitt (Fraunhofer IPT).
- “Evaluation of commercially available cryopreservation media for the cryopreservation of MSCs expanded in a novel xeno-free medium” – Seán Gaynard, Georgina Shaw, Fiona Curley, Frank Barry, Mary Murphy (NUIG, ORB).
- “The effect of fibronectin during the isolation and expansion of bone marrow derived mscs isolated in a novel xeno-free medium” – Georgina Shaw, Seán Gaynard, Niamh Duffy, Frank Barry, Mary Murphy (NUIG, ORB).
- “The effect of changing oxygen tension during culture and differentiation of bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells isolated and expanded in a novel xeno-free medium” – Seán Gaynard, Georgina Shaw, Frank Barry, Mary Murphy (NUIG, ORB).
